WHO DOES THE HANS FOUNDATION FUND?
The Hans Foundation supports not-for- profit organisations, institutions, companies whose mandates aligns with the vision and mission of The Hans Foundation. The recipient organisation should have 12A and 80G registration. In case of funding out of FC fund, the NGO should also have a valid FCRA certificate. NGO should be compliant with the law of the land.

DOES THE HANS FOUNDATION WORK WITH ORGANIZATIONS OUTSIDE INDIA?
No.

FOR WHICH AREAS OF WORK DOES THE HANS FOUNDATION PROVIDE GRANTS?
The Hans Foundation gives or allocates grants for the projects in the fields of health, education. livelihoods, disability, women’s empowerment, water and sanitation.

WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY THE FOUNDATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF ALLOCATING GRANTS ?
The following is a list of documents that are required by The Hans Foundation:

  • Certified True copy (Signed by Board Member/ Trustee) NGO Registration Certificate.
  • Certified True copy (Signed by Board Member/ Trustee) FCRA / FC-1 certificate.
  • Certified True copy (Signed by Board Member/ Trustee) PAN Card.
  • Certified True copy (Signed by Board Member/ Trustee) last IT Returns.
  • Certified True copy (Signed by Board Member/ Trustee) last 3 years Audited Balance Sheet.
  • Certified True copy (Signed by Board Member/ Trustee) 80 (G) – 12A.
  • Authority Letter of NGOs (Signed by Board Member/ Trustee) – Authorizing an individual from the NGO to interact with us.
  • Proposal for Funding (Signed by the Authorised individual) and past projects executed by the NGO.
  • FCRA Accounts & Bank Details of the NGO.

HOW ARE GRANTEES SELECTED / IDENTIFIED BY THE HANS FOUNDATION?
The Hans Foundation makes grants once a year which is in April. The Hans Foundation funding of grants aligns with the financial year i.e. April – March.  The selection is done through a defined process.

The organisations reach out to The Hans Foundation or vice versa. As a first step, the organisations are required to submit the Concept Note, once it is internally approved by Proposal Review Committee, the particular organisation is requested to submit a detailed proposal. The organisations are at times also called for making a presentation in The Hans Foundation for addressing queries on the proposal. Once the Proposal is internally deliberated and feedback given to the submitting organisation, an “online link” is shared with the organisation for submission of the Proposal and other organisational documents. The team of The Hans Foundation also conducts Program and Financial due diligence of the organisation before arriving at the final decision on the Proposal. Once the Proposal is approved the MoU is signed for initiation of the project.

WHAT ARE THE REPORTS THAT ARE REQUIRED POST FUNDING?
The partners has to submit following reports in the prescribed format :

  • Quarterly Program Progress Report
  • Quarterly Audited Financial Utilisation Certificate
  • Annual Program Progress Report
  • Final Audited Utilisation Certificate

ARE THERE ANY VISITS BY THE HANS FOUNDATION?
Yes. The team carries out visits before the funding  for due diligence , as well as post funding visits to see the effective utilization of funds by the organization as well as efficacy of the program.
